When P2X Solutions' Business Controller moved on to other challenges, the company quickly needed someone highly competent to fill the crucial role for the company while they tried to recruit someone new. Alongside the recruitment process, the finance team was challenged by the company's transformational situation, as a hectic high-stake funding round was underway. Support from the Interim Controller eased the CFO's workload during the funding round
P2X Solutions is a start-up company building one of the first industrial-scale green hydrogen plants in the Nordics. The company's two-person finance team included the CFO and the Business Controller.
As the then Business Controller of P2X decided to take on new challenges, the key position had to urgently be filled and was taken over by NIS consultant Riikka Vuorenoja. In her role, Riikka was responsible for traditional BC tasks such as profitability calculations for future investments, developing internal cost accounting for future production facilities and reporting to various key stakeholders. She also supported the CFO during the crucial financing rounds and performed supporting central tasks. This freed up time for the CFO to focus on the bigger picture.

Following the financing rounds, the Swiss energy group Alpiq became the main shareholder of P2X Solutions, enabling company growth and the building of new production facilities. NIS Interim Consultant Riikka stayed on and helped integrate the monthly reporting of financial figures into Alpiq's financial systems and to apply the Group's guidelines, e.g. in the treatment of investments in accounting. During the transitional phase, continuity in financial management and data retention were particularly crucial, as the first production plant in Harjavalta was nearing completion and the company's CFO was changing.
As situations and circumstances changed, P2X Solutions wanted to continue to benefit from Riika's expertise. The assignment was extended for more than a year, and before the end of the assignment, Riikka will be there to train her successor.
